In an attempt to learn, and make a useful tool for web design, I have taken liberties with the original and modified it slightly. I hope he doesn't mind.

I have discovered that this works by entering any code that the browser recognizes; that is, the color's name-or-hexidecimal numbers-or-RGB values-even-VBScript numeration(&H********&).

There are more than likely other legitimate values as well that I am unaware of.........Dave
